Overview

Kiziguro District hospital is one of the two hospitals in Gatsibo district. It was built in 1985 by the Catholic Diocese of Byumba and is located in the Eastern Province, Gatsibo District, Kiziguro Sector, Agakomeye Cell and Bwiza Village. It is governed upon an agreement between the government of Rwanda and the Catholic diocese of Byumba.

The hospital covers 11 health Centers with a catchment area of  496,848 population. It has only 158 beds in hospitalization rooms and five ambulances. Thus, 12 departments at Kiziguro district hospital offer different services including: Surgical ward, Internal Medicine, Pediatric ward, Maternity& Neonatology ward, Outpatients Department (OPD), Dental, Mental Health, Ambulance, Laboratory, HIV/ARTward, physiotherapy, NCDs and Ophthalmology.

The health care provided is divided into four types of services including an ambulatory service within the Outpatient Department (OPD), inpatient services, emergency services and clinical support services. Each is divided into functional units including:
