GOAL 3 Project strengthens Clinical Capacity at Kiziguro District Hospital Through Practical Training on Patient Monitoring Equipment
GOAL 3 project in partnership with Kiziguro District Hospital has launched a practical demonstration training session on November 3, 2026 aimed at strengthening healthcare providers’ capacity to operate and effectively use patient monitoring equipment in the provision of quality healthcare services.
The demonstration session focused on equipping healthcare providers at Kiziguro District Hospital with practical skills and knowledge on the proper manipulation and use of patient monitors through Impala system. This initiative came following the official handing of 16 Monitors to Kiziguro Hospital by Goal 3 project. The monitors will be installed in the pediatrics and neonatology wards.
The initiative initially targets staff working in the Pediatrics, Neonatology departments, and Biomedical technician where continuous monitoring of patients' vital signs is essential for timely clinical decision-making and improved patient outcomes.
During the training, healthcare provider received hands-on demonstrations on how to operate the monitoring equipment, monitor patients' vital signs, and identify potential warning signs that may indicate deterioration in a patient's health condition. The practical approach enabled staff to become familiar with the equipment during their daily clinical responsibilities.
The use of patient monitoring equipment plays a significant role in the early detection of critical health conditions, allowing healthcare professionals to make timely clinical interventions and provide appropriate treatment particularly in Pediatrics and Neonatology services, where close observation and timely response are essential to safeguarding the health and lives of children and newborns.
Kiziguro District Hospital appreciated GOAL 3 for valuable collaboration and commitment to strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals. The hospital remains committed to improving the quality, safety, and responsiveness of healthcare services through continuous professional development, effective use of medical equipment, and strengthened partnerships.
